Tradify alternatives

The main Tradify alternatives for UK trades are Fergus, ServiceM8, Powered Now and, for maintenance contractors, Joblogic. ServiceM8 is usually cheaper for bigger teams because it charges by jobs, not users. Powered Now is cheapest for sole traders. If your problem is quoting and admin rather than the diary, an AI tool may suit better than another job app.

Why do people look for a Tradify alternative?

Usually one of three reasons: cost as the team grows, a feature they need that sits on a higher plan, or a sense that the app organises the work without taking any of it off them. Tradify is a fair choice for many small domestic firms. It's month to month, includes free training, and syncs with Xero, Sage and QuickBooks Online.

Its pricing is per user. As of October 2026 that's £34 a month on Lite, £37 on Pro and £44 on Plus. Pro adds branding, quote options with online acceptance, job costing, timesheets and compliance certificates. Plus adds AI bill reading, writing help, service reminders and purchase orders.

Quick check: Should you switch from Tradify?
Is the monthly bill your main problem?
Do you have five or more users but under 150 jobs a month?
Is the problem the hours you still spend on quotes, bills and chasing?
Do you need maintenance contracts, assets or SLAs?
Price up ServiceM8

It charges by jobs a month with unlimited users on paid plans. Work out a year on both before moving.

Check your plan first

You may be on a higher plan than you use. Compare Lite, Pro and Plus against what your team uses each week.

Look at AI alongside Tradify

Another job app won't write your quotes. An AI tool can, and can feed accepted jobs into the app you have.

Look at Joblogic or Commusoft

Both are built for planned maintenance and assets. Expect longer contracts.

Stay put

Switching costs time and data. Fix how you use Tradify before replacing it.

What are the best Tradify alternatives?

Prices and terms below are from each vendor's own pages as of October 2026.

JoblogicFrom £49 a user a month, billed annuallyUser24 or 36 months typical; 12 possibleMaintenance and compliance
AI back office (Nexley)£799 a monthFirmMonth to monthOwners stuck on quotes and admin

The difference. These apps hold the jobs; you still do the office work. Nexley does that work for you: quotes, invoices, chasing, supplier bills and tenders, drafted overnight from your own prices and your Xero, waiting for your yes in WhatsApp. It works alongside the app you already have.

Fergus. Close to Tradify in scope. Its Professional plan adds automatic supplier integrations, purchase orders and phone support. Xero, QuickBooks and MYOB on both plans, a public API, AI assistants that confirm before sending, and a takeoff link with Groundplan. Free 14-day trial. More in Fergus alternatives.

ServiceM8. Unlimited users on paid plans, priced by jobs: £25 for 50 a month, £59 for 150, £119 for 500. Two-way Xero sync for contacts, items and payments. Job costing and markup billing start on Premium. Free 14-day trial.

Powered Now. Cheapest entry. Professional adds unlimited texts, certificates, Xero, CIS support and Making Tax Digital VAT returns. Premium adds a customer portal and self-booking. Monthly plans roll every 30 days.

Joblogic. For service firms with contracts, PPM and assets. Standard from £49 a user a month billed annually. Most customers commit to 24 or 36 months, so read the terms closely.

Which is cheapest for your team size?

It depends on users and jobs. Here's a year for a five-person domestic heating and plumbing firm doing about 80 jobs a month.

Worked example

A year on Tradify against three alternatives, five users, 80 jobs a month

Prices from each vendor's page as of October 2026, before VAT.

Tradify Pro£37 × 5 users × 12£2,220
ServiceM8 Growing, up to 150 jobs£59 × 12£708
Powered Now Professional£32 × 5 users × 12£1,920
Joblogic Standard, billed annually£49 × 5 users × 12£2,940
Saving moving Tradify Pro to ServiceM8 Growing£2,220 − £708£1,512
Check feature by feature: ServiceM8 adds job costing only on Premium at £119 a month (£1,428 a year), which cuts the saving to £792. Add your own time to move data and retrain the team.

On a two-person team the gap narrows: Tradify Pro is £888 a year, ServiceM8 Starter £300. For a sole trader, Powered Now's Business plan, £280 on the yearly option, is the cheapest paid plan listed here.

When is an AI tool a better alternative?

When the job app isn't the problem. About 9 of the 28 firms we spoke to on sales calls this year raised frustration with job software, and the most common complaint wasn't price: it was that the app held the jobs while the owner still did the quoting, chasing and supplier bills in the evening.

That said, Nexley isn't a like-for-like Tradify replacement. It has no engineer dispatch board or on-site certificate app. It suits owners whose bottleneck is quotes, tenders and admin. If your team needs a shared schedule and on-site forms, keep a job app and decide whether to add AI on top. See do you need job management software if you use AI?.

How do you switch from Tradify without losing data?

Plan it for a quiet fortnight, export everything first, and run both systems side by side until the first invoices go out cleanly.

Switching checklist

Ask the new vendor whether they'll import your data for you. Many offer free onboarding. Check the software contracts guide before signing anything with a minimum term.

Where Nexley fits

Nexley is the AI back office for UK trade firms: five AI assistants run your tenders, quotes, buying, scheduling and invoicing. It connects to the tools you already work in, you run it all from WhatsApp, and you approve everything. £799 a month.

Nexley works with Tradify or instead of it. It drafts quotes from voice notes, reads supplier bills against each job, chases invoices and answers enquiries, and passes accepted jobs into your job software. You approve every step on WhatsApp.

Common questions

How is Nexley different from a job management app?

A job app is a better filing system: it holds your jobs, and you still do the quoting, invoicing and chasing. Nexley does that work. Five AI assistants draft your quotes, invoices, supplier orders, replies and tenders overnight from your own prices and your Xero, and you approve each one in WhatsApp. It's the office help you'd otherwise hire, for £799 a month against about £2,358 a month for a full-time admin.

What is the cheapest alternative to Tradify?

For a sole trader, ServiceM8's free plan (one user, 30 jobs a month) or Powered Now's £28-a-month Business plan, as of October 2026. For larger teams, ServiceM8 is usually cheaper because users are unlimited on paid plans.

Is Fergus better than Tradify?

They're close. Fergus's Professional plan has automatic supplier integrations and a takeoff link with Groundplan; Tradify has three plans and free training. Trial both on live jobs for a fortnight.

Does Tradify have a contract?

No. Tradify says it runs month to month with no contracts, and you can cancel any time, as of October 2026.

Can I move my Tradify data to another app?

Export customers, jobs and invoices before you cancel, then ask the new vendor to import them. Test the import on a handful of records first.
